Here is an image of the table that David and I are working on. All of the curved pieces connecting the planar surfaces will have to be fabricated in layers that are laminated and mechanically connected to the joining surfaces. Each piece will require a custom clamp that can be fashioned at the same time as everything else. The table provides several places for siting and placing laptops. We still want to work into the design of the planar surfaces places for cups, mouses, etc. Possible by incorporating our script that we finally got working.

Considering the elegance of you physical study model, this looks like it got designed in committee. I would be more rigorous about when and where a blended surface is and when it folds down to meet the ground. Thickness and support structure is very important as well and will effect the expression. As a table-bench, the ergonomics cannot be discounted and the best way to test that is through full size cardboard mock-ups. If chairs can be rolled up to this table as well, then they should be included in the renderings.
